Cerec® in Puyallup, WA

Woodland Dental Center is your Puyallup, WA CEREC dentist for single-visit tooth restorations. Why go to the dentist a second time if you don’t have to?

At Woodland Dental Center, our goal is to make your visit as pleasant as possible. To us, that means using state-of-the-art technology to provide efficient, effective treatment and get you back to your life.

What is CEREC?

CEREC is a technology for restoring damaged teeth, and this restoration can be completed in a single visit to our Puyallup dental office. It makes your teeth stronger and more beautiful, all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free, and the high-grade ceramic material is compatible with the natural tissue found in your mouth.
This is the early stage of gum disease, when the gums become red and swollen, and bleed easily. At this stage, the disease is treatable and can usually be eliminated by daily brushing and flossing.
If left untreated, gingivitis will advance into periodontitis, and the gums and bone that support the teeth will become seriously and irreversibly damaged. Gums infected with periodontitis can cause teeth to become loose, fall out, or be removed by a dentist.

The CEREC Process

CEREC crowns can be completed in just one visit to Woodland Dental Center, which takes approximately two hours from start to finish. There is no need to take impressions or wear a temporary crown for two weeks. Our CEREC crowns are made with the same porcelain materials used in the majority of traditional porcelain crowns, and are very strong. The 3D scanning technology and CEREC software allow Dr. Hanks and Stroyan to manipulate and fine tune every detail of the crowns while you are still in the chair.

To begin your CEREC restoration, we will use a special 3D imaging camera to take a photo of your tooth. Using CEREC’s proprietary software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth’s appropriate form and function. Then, our in-office CEREC milling machine will use diamond burs to create your restoration out of a single, solid piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.
